I was once corresponding with someone at Microsoft about fonts, and he used the phrase "leverage the functionality of".
In my reply, I quoted that and wrote, "I don't mean to be dense, but is that the same thing as 'use'"?
I got a very curt "YES." (and no response to anything else I had written) and that was the last I heard from him.
