Brandenburg again.

Second attempt, with some keyswitch work on the violins, and what will make the most difference: no double bass, only harpsichord for the continuo.

I've tried using keyswitching on strings, and the results always sound like the players are really angry and taking it out on the music.

How do you get it to sound like they're just switching bowing direction, instead of savagely yanking the bow back and forth?
